Audibahn A8000T / general amp questions

Hello!

I have an Audiobahn A8000T powering two infiniti Kappa 10" subs (single voice coil, 4ohm impedance each) wired in parallel, for a 2ohm load. There is a Lightning Audio 1 farad capacitor immediately before the amp. My amp will cut out on hot days after 30-60 minutes of use.

Some possible ideas I have for the problem:

-The wiring is incorrect.
What do I need to do to measure the impedance of 2 subs wired in parallel using a DMM? Disconnect them from the amp, hold the wires together, and put the DMM terminals on the pos. and neg. wires? What else should I measure, and what needs to be disconnected for me to not mess up my electrical system doing it?

-The amp is overheating.
This seems most likely to me, I guess. The amp only cuts out on days hotter than ~80 degrees. Then again, I suppose it could be an impedance issue that is exacerbated by the heat. Does anyone have experience with replacing fans in Audiobahn amps? I believe it's a 60mm fan, and I wouldn't want to cut the case just to fit an 80mm fan. I guess what I am looking for and can't find online or in the manual is the size, depth, and power draw for the cooling fan. Ideally I could replace it with a high CFM delta fan if it's within spec. Of course, those run at above 50dB.

-My amp gain is set too high.
Not sure where to go with on this one. What kind of settings should I have on my amp, bass boost and gain wise?

-My amp and subs are mismatched.
The infinity subs I have are rated at 350w RMS each, so if I understand things correctly, my amplifier is capable of 800w RMS, and the subs in parallel should be capable of only 700w. Could this be the source?

That's all I can think of for now. Most important to me to start is to know how to use the DMM to measure impedance and whatever else I need without harming the electrical system. Any suggestions, input, or questions in general will be incredibly appreciated!

If your wiring is incorrect, the amp probably wouldn't work.

Your gain shouldn't make the amp cut out.

Those subs should work fine on that amp.

If it's 30 minutes+ of usage before it cuts out, and it tends to cut out on hot days, most likely it is heating up. You mentioned replacing the fan - is the fan working in the unit?

That amp is quite a capable an clean sounding unit for the price, but it will take a little more power / probably run hotter than an equivalent class D amp.

I have one of those amps, and seeing how its all chrome and sits out in the sun, mine heats up and cuts out after about 30 minutes, but if driving with good air circ in the back and the fan on, it usually wont cut out and does alright, its just the triple digits that mess with mine.

turn your gain down itll help. i had my gain set once and i never had thermal protection mode kick in then one day i messed with the gain and upped it im always messing with it. after that it first overheated one night after maybe 1 hour or 2 hours of a beating playing my kicker L5 really loud. ive never messed with the gain since then but figured out how to fix it somewhat. yesterday it was 100+ here so it was burning hot to begin with and my a/c just doesnt reach the back of the car to cool it enough but if you put the windows down and get a nice draft flowing through the car the amp will stay cool enough.
and i own the same exact amp
