Stereo Console from 89 on 87?
I'm not sure if that's what it's called but I'm talking about the controls for the stereo. I was just wondering if lets say one from an 89 would connect to the connections of an 87? I'm asking this because I am wanting to get this: eBay Motors: 89 -92 Camaro IROC Delco Radio Tape EQ MP3 IPOD Input (item 160018582749 end time Aug-20-06 17:00:00 PDT)
Anyway any help would be appreciated.

Ok well I just got the stereo in the mail and everything but I'm having a bit of trouble with the wiring. I have an 87 Camaro, and the stereo I got is for 89-92 Camaro. So the plugs that go into the stereo it self are different.
My car has the ones that are just like a hollow plug, and the ones for the stereo are the ones that has little pins inside. So I searched on here and I think I need to get some harness adapter adapter, but they are form posts that people are putting aftermarket stereos, and the adpter combines all the wires into one plug.
So yeah, is there an adapter for something like mine? If not then I guess I'll just have to cut the wires but the new stereo has 2 extra ones that I can't find in mine, they are a pink one and a brown one.
Thanks for any help.

Haha I see you changed your post, but yeah it works, just need to get an adapter like any other aftermarket radio I guess. (Adapter was Scosche '73-'91 GM (GM01) at Walmart for $6.94)
But I got a question is the clock suppose to stay on at all times? From what I read in the haynes repair manual, Clock Power = Orange Wire = Hot At All Times, so I'm guessing it should?

the clock "hot at all times" means that the clock has power so it will remember what time it is. it should also stay on. every delco radio i have ever seen does.
as for the connector.. you will need to get a stock pigtail for the newer style. if you want to retain all of your stock connectors you can do that. go to any car audio store (or crutchfield.com) and get the adapter for the early GM cars. most people attach these to thier aftermarket harnesses (as i have done, mine goes to my pioneer deck), but you could go stock-to-stock just as easy. also, FYI GM continued to use the 88-92 fbody harness through atleast 2002, so you can get one out of ANY late model car at the junkyard.
the pink wire is for your power out. as in for a power antenna or amp. brown wire says it is for "lights dimming". this is differnt from the "lights on" input, which is grey.
