Yeah I know, I'm paranoid

Well I guess I just don't go along with the saying love shouldn't be based on looks (in reference to cars).

Anyways, I'm wondering if anyone has or knows of any headunits that are all or mostly black, with a red backlight? (and only red!) My point being I want all my colors to match My stock tape deck is rebelling. (It spits out tapes like the vending machines do with wrinkled dollars )

Pix/links would be nice if possible

Thanks!

Forgot to mention, **quality** headunits... although I'm sure that's a given

i am running a clarion dxz835mp deck which is a couple of years old. The face is satin black with chrome buttons at the bottom and the head unit lets you pick the illumination color. there are 32 preset colors with a couple of different reds and then a user defined setting. The head unit also plays MP3 disks which is nice. They sell on ebay for under a hundered bucks now. good luck.

I have a Panasonic CQ-HR1003U, which has a detachable touch screen faceplate. You can choose one of several preset colors (of which one is red) to display when the unit is powered on. When off, it is totally blank with no controls showing. I've had this for about 3 years now, it plays CDs and CDs with MP3 and WMA files, and is ready for SIRIUS.

The Alpine CDA-9835 doesn't have a colorful screen, but the buttons change between 512 different colors, so you're bound to find one you like. It's also very powerful and very expandable. It was $600 when I bought it a few years ago and I bet they have dropped in price by now.

I have a similar model Clarion headunit in my GrandAm, not only does it give you several colors to chose from, you can set it to fade from color to color, makes for neat eyecandy during a drive. And the radio is also satellite radio ready and 50watts x4.
