Anti-deer frequency ranges??

I'm doing some research on a theory my friend and i came up with(mostly him though), and i've came up with some evidence to back it up, the theory is that if you have a sufficiently loud bass frequency (system) on while driving you are very much less likely to get into a collision with a deer. His evidence is that when he hit his last deer his system was not on, same with me. But when the system is on in either his or my vehicle we rarely even see deer by the side of the road even with as heavy deer population their is in this area(northeast michigan) and neither of us have even come close to hitting one with subs bumpin.

So my question is to all of you, have you ever hit a deer with your system on, if yes how loud was it playing? If no, you have further proved my theory!

I see plenty of deer at night and I don't exactly have a quiet system. In fact, one ran out in front of my car tonight despite rocking out to music when I was driving through the middle of nowhere. I will admit that deer rarely run out in front of my car because they generally hear me coming but I still see plenty along the side of the road.

Even with the stereo off they still know I'm coming thanks to the exhaust on the car. It's not flowmaster loud but it still is pretty noticeable to them. I haven't noticed a difference in deer behavior or numbers with the system turned up or down – they will stand on the side of the road and just watch me drive by either way.

I would like to add one thing and this is a direct quote from bcae1.com. Please boom responsibility. As most of you have noticed, the noise ordinances have become much tougher lately. Most of this is due to idiots, yes IDIOTS, who drive through residential areas with their windows down while their system is playing at full power. To make things worse, the music they listen to has all sorts of foul language that's not suitable for small children, (who may be playing outside). There are even a few people, who are even beyond idiot status, that play their systems at full power through residential areas after 10:00 PM (when many people go to bed). If car audio enthusiasts keep annoying more and more people, the fines will keep getting tougher. All of this will only reduce interest in the equipment that fuels the industry. If you want to listen to your system at full volume, get out on the highway where there's little chance of bothering anyone. When you get to a red light, turn it down. If the only thing attractive about you is your 'system', you have some work to do. Bottom line... Think about what you're doing. Think about other people. It's not the end of the world if you have to turn the volume down for a little while.

Not saying anyone does this but there are talks of a noise ordnance where I live because of all the dumb kids that like to blast their junk constantly.

I think you got that frequency all wrong. I think the fequency you want is higher than humans can hear. I bought a set of the "dear whisltes", and IIRC, the instructions stated that they produce a sound that is higher frequency the humans can hear. But animals such as dogs, cows, dear, ect, ect can hear. So take your booming bass idea and scrap it. Keep your booming bass to the open road and not outside my house. Thanks
