wow....I had 15 year old delco speakers, until today.
I replaced my rear speakers a couple years ago and found them to be infinity. I assumed the fronts were replaced as well. But they fronts worked fine and I paid no attention.
Today I bought some pioneer 3-way 4x6's and noticed that i still was pushing 15 year old Delco's up front. Those things are dogs!.....you can run them into the ground (which I did). I just figured they blow by now.
But with the pioneers I do notice that they are much louder (I cant push them past 25 on the deck volume without hurting my ears). It was 30-32 with the delco's. And they sound so much better.
Go figure

Not the best performing, yet refuses to stop working. Sound familiar?
FYI I just pulled Delco 6x9s from my sail panels a couple days ago. They still work. Sound decent too.
