paging those w/ Kicker solobarics
Im building a box for single 10 solobaric to fit down inside the well area and I need some advice on wheather or not I should try and stick with kicker reccommendations for internal box volumes or not. I will be sealing the box up. My choice of sub is the 10" L7. My box dimensions are 24x11x11 using 3/4" MDF. the volume will be 1.1cubic feet and kicker says not to go over 1 cubic foot. How do you guys feel about this. Does it make a huge difference with this type of sub? It will be powered by a Kicker KX600.1 running in 2 ohms. Should I stay under 1 cubic foot of go over a little bit to get the most of of this sub? I can change the width on the box up to 27" or go under 24" if need be

These subs need huge power, and huge(r) space. They work best/most efficient in giant ported boxes.
I used my S15L7 with a 1000W RMS, in a 3.0cu sealed box. That's in the range of suggested size. it was very quiet. Simply hole sawing 2 round holes and putting in some 3" PVC pipe REALLY woke it up.
In short, i'd recommend a ported box for that sub.

ok, thats changes things. Due to the size confinments of my idea, I have no choice but to use a sealed box, I also have to use a 10" sub. I guess I gotta do some looking around now. maybe I will find something else. I listen to all sorts of music so it make is hard for me to choose. I just want something that hit pretty hard but nothing that the guy3 blocks away needs to hear. All I care about is a good quality hard hitting sub that sounds good inside the car.

good quality sub, for different varieties of music, don't need the guy 3 blocks away to hear it?
You've got the wrong sub I think.

they don't need large ported boxes to sound right, just the right size with possibly an aeroport. But with that size sealed, with the same power handling as the L7, look at the CVX 10", works perfect sealed.
