new to 3rd gen

OK since I'm right now workin on my sound system figured this is as good a spot as any to start.Just bought a 90 camaro R/S and will be tapping out ya all for tech and tips.Been a OLDS man for the most part but this was a steal.Right now lookin for a complete wire schematic for the 90 to start with. Also noticed that the alt is smaller than I'm used ta (been dealin with pre-80 engines) and was just wonderin how difficult it would be ta swap out to a higher output alt and what model chevs would be good ta look for in the local bone yard to do a direct swap with (or with minimal mods).Any input is appreciated.Thanx and lookin forward ta dealin with ya all. From what I've read so far seems like a good troup here.

By the way names Bill and I now own a 90 R/S with 3.1(I think too lazy ta run out and look right now)V-6 mpi with a 1/2 butt rad-shack aftermarket sound system(upgradeing to some infinity stuff have layin around as we speak) in fair condition ,red in color(changeing soon) that I paid 1200 for(upgrade stuff was in a box in the back seat)

thanx but makin a bone yard run in about 30 min and an alt there is 11.00 with guarantee (also know the owner) so was thinkin about pickin 1 up taday.ty for da quick responce.also found ya all have a butt load of wire data so not realy lookin for the schematic now unless runinto an item specific situation.for example the tach is pegged out when car is on but not when car is off as 1 would expect. and the needles for tach and speedo don't light up as they should so have to watch for the shadow when drivein at night as the dial lights function well enuff.Have yet to tear the dash out to check for bulbs.

The newer style alternators are more compact, but should still have equivalent current capacities. If that car has A/C, it should already have a 100 amp alternator, which is sufficient for most sane systems.

Aren't 90's LT1 Caprice alternators bigger and fit? I'm unsure of the fitment on a V6, but I think they fit a V8. Some help I am.

Sane huh??nahh need more power.it has ac (non-functioning currently)playin with the notion of dropin out the compressor and addin another alt&suplemental battery with appropriate harness just for the sound system and my multitude of communication equipment.Probably won't tho.Wife HATES it when i tell her if ya too hot roll dem winders down and drive faster.
