Alpine amp trouble
Alpine amp trouble
Hi. I have an Alpine V12 MRV T707 1/2 channel amp running bridged. The problem is that the two fuses located on the side of the amp blew. I traced the power cable and the amp turn-on lead and can find no problems with the wiring...I have power coming to the amp from both the main cable and the remote turn-on. After messing with the wires, I plugged in two new fuses, turned on the head unit, and seconds later the fuses blew again. Should I have the amp checked out, or is there something I'm missing? Thanks for any help you can give...
what amp fuses did you put in there?
you made sure that the power goes to the batt? is it fused near the batt? if so is that fuse ok?
did you check the ground? is the ground wire the same size as the power wire? it SHOULD be!!! check to make sure that where ever it's grounded that it is a GOOD ground.
if all these things are ok then yes, i would have it looked at..

You should have 2 20 amp fuses. Do you? That amp is rated at 240 watts @4 ohm bridged, which shouldnt be enough to blow one 20 amp fuse, let alone two. What impedance is the amp seeing?
