6.5 component kick panel/ dash 4" ?
From what I have beeen reading everybody is doing components in the sail location but what about the dash? Am I better going to a 4". Also what are the medium line speakers everybody is using for the dash and kickpanels. Ive got some 4" pioneer but if it really matters Ill change them out. Then the recommendation for the compoonents. Mucho aprecciate it.

There are drawbacks and benefits to all locations.
You may find it useful to read this:
Buying Speakers
As for the brand, that's a very subjective decision, but I would suggest that if you really want something that sounds very good, that you look quite a bit beyond Pioneer and start looking at good quality components from Boston Acoustics, JL Audio, or Alpine to name just a few.

thanks will give it a read. I used to have all jl audio in my last car but set backs caused me to sell everything. iThe one thing I do have left is a jl audio
10" w6 in a sealed box. Im using a mtx amp bridged to run it but the amp can handle it. Im looking for a 4 channel amp for the front right now. The 4x6 are infinity so Ill get better 6x9 like eclipse or polk audio and see how that sounds. What do you think of xtant amps?

When Xtant first came around, they were a high-end line from the MTX guys, who themselves made excellent stuff. Over the years, MTX and Xtant stuff has taken a bit of a more broad approach in that their premium stuff is still very good, but they now have a lot of lower-end stuff in order to compete with all the chinese crap that's on the market.
In other words, some xtant may be very good stuff, some may not. Just make sure you do plenty of homework on the specific item that you're interested in.

Redlsone,
I used to compete and judge in IASCA. You need to remember that round speakers will always sound better than oval ones. So stay away from them.
You can buy a 4" and 1" combo plate speaker to fit in the dash. I would personally stay away from dash speakers as I have judged a few camaros and found that the sound distorts as it bounces off the windshield (this depends on the amount of power and volume flowing).
I currently have all Pioneer (6 1/2", 10" sub and head unit) in my daily driver and I am quite happy with the sound especially for the $$ I spent. Yes there are better speakers/amps but $$ is a reality of life. If you can build in stages buy the best quality you can.
Remember you must be happy with the sound. Listen to the speakers in the CAR not on the wall of the shop before you buy. I agree that Boston, JL, MB Quart all make good speakers.
As for the rear you could make a wood plate to put a 6 1/2" and tweeter combo and mount them in place of the 6 x 9. Or you can put the combo in the door and mount 8" mid sub in the 6 x 9. Add a single 10" and a 5 channel amp and you're finished.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Ok well I bought some infinity reference 4012i for the front , lookin at some eclipse or boston acoustic for the rear sail panel and in the back I have a jl audio 10" w6 powered by a mtx bridged. The front speakers are going to be powered by an xtant 404. Just bought some dynomat for were the 6x9 were because it was all metal back there. Gonna run both amps in the back. Is it ok to run both amps of one 4 gauge wire? I was just gonna split the connection.

Some camaros/t-a/firebirds in the third gen came out with a box that fit into the 6x9 location behind yer head that takes 4x6 and 3 or 4 inch speakers. That is both 4x6 AND the 3 or 4's.They had a decent sound and the mountings for each was seperate for each speaker.I have seen them at the bone yards and have thought about grabbin myself a set to try em out in my set up.I have 4x6 in the front dash on a passive eq with a set of highpass x-overs also passive. They in effect are so filtered they are almost tweeters.A set of infinity 6x9's non foltered as yet in the back behind my head and an infinity 12" in a sealed enclosure that takes up my entire sump area in the hatch with an infinity 4x amp bridged driveing it off another passive eq dedicated to the woofer. It can boom but usually it's there just to give the cannons in for those about to rock some nads.Sorry but metal old and new doesn't sound right without some distinct bass. It's not comp but it turns heads in the neighbor hood and thumbs up from the bass heads so guess it's not too bad.But plan ta improve .

You should really run the wires seperate. After all proper wiring can make or break a system.

Bill...........Keep the tunes up and the pedel down........I always enjoy crankin' Edgar Winter's Frankenstein........

Yeah I normally run seperate wires but have head mixed thoughts. My mtx amp is only pushing like 300 watts. Do I really need 4 gauge wire? The front speakers will be equal to that. Man 2 4 gauge runs is gonna be a pain in the butt, well not really just go to the other side of the car. I was told however that I can use the same remote wire. Not sure if I asked this before but whats a medium set of components for the sail panels? Are my infinity"s I picked out gonna be ok for the front dash? What about the xtant 404 will that be enough for the front and sail speakers?

As for the sail panel speakers.......put what you want it's your car..........component, 6 1/2", 8".....what ever your want.
The infinity should fit in the dash.......you can use on 4 gauge wire if you wish and the amp should have enough power............go to a stereo store and get a free second opinion......enjoy
