Axle/Gears: huh?? guessing stock.
you will have to make an adapter plate to mount them in, but yes you can fit them. I used 1/4 inch MDF cut it the size of the hole and blted it in, then cut holes for both my 6.5" woofers and .75" tweeters.

What we did was use 1/4" masonite. Its very stiff. We make a plate that fills in the 6X9 space. Also what you can do to improve the sound is (DISCLAMER!!! Be very careful!!!) use triple expanding foam to build an enclosure. I use duct tape to give me the rough size then foam it in. It reduces rattles and tightens up the midbass significantly. Again be very careful with Triple expanding foam. It really does expand. If you use too much you can bubble out your outside sheet metal. I do it in small amounts.

don't know about the mb Quart but I do know that the Polk kappa's absolutely scream and have a real tight mid bass. Never thought of using masonite...did you cut it with a rotozip or what cause it has a tendency to crack doesn't it..

No it doesn't crack. Masonite is a tempered fiberboard product. I use a jigsaw with a fine tooth blade for smooth cuts. Very easy to work with. Seals well with silicone. Lightweight as well. I also believe that with comparable thickness it is stiffer than conventional products like OSB, particle board and even MDF.

I ran a set of the QSD216 6.5 components in my GF's monte carlo, its a very clean sounding speaker and just keeps its clearity as the volume goes up. I used a JL 450/4. I would recomend these if you're looking for a good clean sound. They're not as....deep and 'bassy' as some others.
