Sirius Receivers
I want to get a Sirius Reciever put in my car which already has an aftermarket soundsystem/radio. The radio is Sirius ready and when I went to get the receiver unit they are telling me it won't fit.
I dont really believe the best buy techs taht there isnt way to get it installed.
Taking ideas.

Don't know why it shouldn't fit. My Sirius receiver is mounted under the seat and works through a CD changer interface on the radio, which is also Sirius ready.

Your biggest mistake was bringing it to Best Buy. Take it to a local shop with techs that at least have a GED.
If your head unit is "sirius ready", then you need the sirius controller which is a tiny thing that can easily fit above the passenger area lower-dash panel, and connects to the head unit with a DIN cable. The bulky size of the DIN cable may be an issue behind the head unit, but if you've got one with a 90* plug, it shouldn't be a problem.

No offense, but I beg to differ. I don't have any controller for my Sirius receiver except the "Sirius ready" head unit. All I needed was the interconnect cable (CD controller DIN cable) and an antenna. The head unit controls and displays all the Sirius info. Probably thinking of the controller for an RF modulated piece.

I should have said "tuner"
If your head unit only needs an antenna for it to function, then it's not "sirius ready" it's got Sirius built right in. For "Sirius Ready" head units to function, you need the sirius tuner box that connects to the head unit via DIN cable. The head unit performs the display and all control functions, but the actual tuner is a separate box. This is how the vast majority of head units are. There's only a few models out there that have the sirius built right into the head unit.

Back to original topic... There should be no reason he should have a problem fitting a Sirius tuner to a "Sirius ready" head unit since the tuner can mount almost anywhere, even in the trunk (hatch) if the DIN cable is long enough not unlike hooking up a CD changer.
