i think im getting myself into a big problem!
the other day i bought a new 12" mtx duel voice coil subwoofer and me and a friend hooked it up in my room with the head unit and amp that im going to use in my car(when i get it back). the sub is sitting in a bucket that we sealed off since i dont have my box built all the way. we got it going and quicly found out THIS THING POUNDS! which im happy for that(i think everyone needs one of thses subs) but it made me consern because i was going to put this thing in a custom fiberglass box i am making,i am conserned that this sub will rip my fiberglass box up like a woodchipper and i have no way to change my plans around for this box or other wise i would get a wooden box. i dont know what to do because this is just ONE of 2 12" mtx subs im going to have and im hooking one 300 watt amp to each sub and lastly one 300 watt amp going to the 4 speakers. what should i do how could i make this box not rip??? i was thinking about restarting and making a wooden fram for it first and then lay the cloth over that and then fiberglass it and then try to add chopmatt ot the back to make it thinker and stronger

just put more resin on it or whatever you do do strengthen fiberglass.. what model sub is it? i honestly dont think it would blow it out .. i would build the fiberglass box and see how it works
Here are some links to help you, I'm doing one for 2x 10's and the amp built into the box. http://www.teamfocus.us/speakerbox.htm http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...519&KW=leather http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36873 These are 3 good ones I found, take your time and it will come out awsome!

If you are concerned then just add more resin to the box to reinforce it. You should be fine. I ran two 12's in mine and the back window blew apart before the box did!!! Thankfully the window tint held the glass in place!

You should be running wood supports from the bottom of the box to the top and mount the speakers to these. You don't want the fiber glass to be supporting the sub. If you're doing this way you'll be fine, if you're not doing it this way, well, you should be doing it right.
