well for one, sealed box + l7 = box being blown apart. i advise you to take it out of that box. if you are to read the manual that comes with the L7 it will even say not recommended for sealed enclosures in bold print. and youll get more sound out of a ported box anyways from that sub. the only thing is itll have to be a very big box. a 15" L7 is supposed to have a 6 cubic foot box ported.

try 4-5 cubes tuned to 32-35 hz, and build it in the rear, not in the back seat. THEN you'll be loud.

I had a box with 2 15'' l7s in it in my back hatch and i took it out because you couldnt even sit in the car. The kool part was it was theft proof unless you had the hatch key. The hatch closed right ontop of it so even if they broke my window it still woulldnt come out.

i dont have the time to design a box being that i'm getting ready to move 2400 miles in a couple of weeks, but i could put you in touch with some extremely talented box builders who would do it for a small fee.
believe me, theres PLENTY of room in the rear. i ran 2 rl-p 12's in a ported box, 4.6 cubes tuned to 32 hz in my trans am, all behind the rear seat. jim85iroc has also build a ported box or two but i believe they were dual 12's as well. a single 15 shouldnt be any problem.

Okay, so you have one 15" that hits 140.2 db and you want to increase the cone space with 2 12's and try to go LOUDER than 140??
WHY??
FYI........... you can find cheap hearing aids on ebay..............

Actually it was 149.5 running 2x Phoenix Gold MS2125, PG EQ215, PGTBA(The Balancing Act) Alpine Deck, 3 1 Farad Caps, Monster Cable Wire, 4 Boston Pro Series 10s in a ported enclosure, 4 Boston Pro 6.5, 4 Boston Pro 5.25, 4 Boston Pro tweeters (these are the original pro series in the black baskets) entire car done in dynamat. This was done in a weekend in February 1994 low humidity, ran the A/C for about 30 min before the ISACA event in Nashville.
Subs were wired around 0.5 ohm mono and the 6.5 and 5.25 were wired at 0.25 ohm stereo.
All in all, the system was pushing around 3000 watts total. This was competed in the 251-500 class.

Can anyone tell me how you tune the port to a certain frequency? I'm not sure how that works out mathematically.

How about 2 8" subs with 600 watts hitting 142.8
But not too bad at all... Good point though, those will pound like nuts in about 4.5 cubes ported to around 40hz.
I did a single L712 in a Elantra with 600 watts 3cuft ported at 38hz, didn't ever measure the spl, but ohh was it windy in that car

The car with the 8's had the trunk welded shut, and the entire box was built into the trunk and completely sealed, back seat removed...
It was a built SPL machine. Once you do that you can expect some pretty insane numbers.
----------
I should add here that the 2 8's didn't really make much bass so to speak of either, they were simply loud.
