I have an 89 Trans Am with stock AM/FM cassette. My problem is the power antenna, front and rear passenger speakers don't work. The left side works fine but hear static noise when I use the balance and fade to the right side, should I fix or not bother and throw out??

Update - I didn't pull the unit but decided to try a cassette tape and see what happens. Well, the passenger side speakers work but not that great. It sounds like a short or loose wire because I'm still getting a static sound when using balance and fade. When the weather warms up I'll pull the unit and investigate further...to be continued!! No luck with the power antenna yet..

My antenna works but I have the exact same thing going on with my passenger side speakers. I pulled the head unit and all the wires look fine. I figure that because it's both right side speakers anditbegn at the same time that it's a problem with the head unit. I plan to replace it with another GM factory unit soon and I'll let you know how it goes
