Dash speaker grills

Anyone have a clue on how to get the grills out of the dash on an '88 Firebird? Do they pop out or what?

Thanks,
Snickers

Re: Dash speaker grills

The 1988 dash mounted grill covers have molded posts that are threaded. They mount into the dash with nuts underneath. The posts break easy, must have been cheap plastic. I just pulled my dash out to replace the speakers and found the posts were all broken except one on each side. I'm looking for a replacement speaker cover for my 88 GTA.
