T-tops and speaker boxes

Where are you guys that have speaker boxes putting your T's when you take them out? Are you just laying them in the back over the seat?

Re: T-tops and speaker boxes

I built a shelf in the well for my sub/amp, t-tops go where they always did. Most folks use a well box or make a shelf like I did, so their t-top bag still connects as it should.

Re: T-tops and speaker boxes

I cheat - I have one 10 inch under driver side, and the amp is under the center. The pass side is just a grill attached to the shelf for aesthetics. I'm 45 (ie old man) - I don't want to rattle the license plate off, just add a little extra thump to my rock & roll!

Re: T-tops and speaker boxes

i fit a single 12 in the bottom section of the well, so there was plenty of room to reuse the stock bag mounting spot.

I also forgot to mention, in my pic - those are grills for 12's, even though I only have one 10 under there.

Re: T-tops and speaker boxes

I took the ebay box apart and made it a shelf.

Running 2 12" JL and the amp in the middle.

T-Top bag goes right over it.

I built a box and put 1 10 inch sub in it...sounds awesome and I can still use the factory tie downs for the t tops.

Re: T-tops and speaker boxes

My box with (1) 10 inch JBL sub is awesome! I have tons of bass (more than I need)! The key is to seal the box with liquid nails.

Re: T-tops and speaker boxes

So I'd be better off with a box instead of the "plate"? The T-top bags just sit back there n you guys don't have any trouble with it slidding back onto the speakers?

Re: T-tops and speaker boxes

The T-Top bag has straps that hold it in place, so no issues with it sliding.

I don't use my straps anymore - I hand-stitched Velcro onto the bottom of the bag, it grips the carpet great and I don't even get slippage from that.

You'll get deeper bass from a sealed box, but I like my simple shelf just fine - I get plenty of bass for me from it, and I can stash jumper cables, small tool bag, and power inverter under it.
