First car audio
First car audio
Alright, I don't really know much about car audio. However, I'm planning on getting these speakers and this amp for my thirdgen:

I still haven't decided on a sub. Any suggestions? Price is a rather important factor.
Any help would be great. I have no idea what I'm doing with car audio shizzle. So help/suggestions would be cool. I only have about 250 to spend on the whole setup, but I would prefer to spend less. Thanks guys

if you give me a budget for the sub/amp combo it will be easier to suggest something.. those speakers and amp should work nicely.. post a review about those speakers :P
Re: First car audio
Haha, alright. Well, I don't really care much if I have the loudest sub out there; and that amp has a 360 RMS mono channel along with the other four channels, so I was hoping to just run a sub off of that.
After adding all that stuff up, it came out to about $170. So I still have about another 80ish to spend on a sub. I would assume that's not much, but I'm really not looking for much when it comes to a sub. My main concern was high-quality mids and highs, and at least somewhat above decent lows. I have a bit more to spend on the sub if anyone can suggest something that catches my eye.

look on ebay and you will most likely find one new in box... i did a little lookin and if you spend a little more you could get like 2 10s in a box for the rear hatch for 120... just throwin that out there if you could come up witht he extra... i bought 2 brand new P3 12s off ebay for 250 (thats the price of one new one in the store) so you may want to do a little looking around there...

Okay, cool... Yeah I've been looking around ebay, I just don't really know what to buy. I don't want to take up my whole rear hatch compartment, so I would rather just have like, one decent sub instead of two. And I've got a friend who's all into woodworking/carpentry, and he wanted to help me build the box for it. So I guess I've got that all covered.
Anyone know a decent sub that could take 360 RMS and is pretty cheap? A nice 10 would be good enough if not more than enough for me.

Alright, I realized that I was horribly wrong. That was only a 2-channel amp.
Anyway, I changed my mind and my budget a bit and have decided on this setup:
1. A pair of Phoenix Gold Ryval 4x6 2-Ways for the front
2. A pair of Phoenix Gold Octane 6x9 2-ways for the back
3. A Phoenix Gold Ryval 12" sub
4. A Phoenix Gold Octane R9.0:5 5-Channel Amplifier
What do you guys think? Front and back will run 50 RMS, and the sub will run 150; all at 4 ohms.
