monsoon cd install pics

what a great website. ive only had my 92 firebird for 2 weeks and i have already fixed the headlights (replaced the pucks in the motors). fixed the intermittent starting problem (replaced ign module). ordered my med powerstick exhaust. . after reading all the posts about how easy the swap is i got a monsoon out of a 2000 ss from a guy at work for 50 bucks. i took out the alpine cassette and the monsoon hooked right up i just had to trim the mounting brackets on the radio and remove the vents in the stereo hole. i also wanted to keep the stock look. the car was my wifes moms. she bought it new in dec 1991. always garaged and always serviced at the dealership. 108,xxx miles. 305 t-tops auto. im going to try and keep it stock although i do like to modify but it still has the GM floormats and alot of the GM stickers like on the t-tops that say caution. i could go on all night. here are before and after pics. crap i can't post the before w/ the alpine the pic is to big.

Re: monsoon cd install pics

Looks good. Except for the Monsoon logo, it looks just like the Theft-Lock deck I put in my 89 RS.

Re: monsoon cd install pics

I'm just bought one of these for my 84 T/A. Should be in by the end of the week. The car currently has a Pioneer deck and I have no idea if it will plug into whatever they did to hook the pioneer up or not. Was the installation as strait forward as you make it sound or were there any hidden pitfalls I should be aware of?

Re: monsoon cd install pics

I had to get the pigtail harness from the year vehicle it came from, then fabricate some side mounting brackets (came from a truck with slide mounts), no issues otherwise.
