amp question

ok, im really not knolegable when it comes to car audio, and i dont want to go to the local store and get raped, so here it is. i went ahead and built my well box, and cut holes for two 10's. I have to jensen 10's but i dont know how good they are or what as i got them from a friend, so i will probably purchase other ones. What i really dont know about is amps. I have a sony Xplode Drive-5 CD player, with front and rear speakers right now which are also Sony, and i want to run two 10's, nothing that is going to make my car shake or anything like that, but something to give me some nice bass. What would be the best idea for me, im not looking to spend more than 200-300 dollars. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and im no stranger to buying used items to make stuff cheaper

Re: amp question

Being Jensen's then I almost guarentee they are 4-ohm speakers, so that's not a problem. More than likely, the speakers are around a 125 - 175rms rating. If you want something decent for not a lot of money, this is a decent amp from Best Buy

I'm not gonna lie, I'd probably never use it(nothing against it personally), but for your subs and for you wanting to stay within a budget and get something that will get the job done, that Pioneer amp will work just fine with your Jensen subs. I've installed quite a few of these for people that want to stay cheap along with subs around the same level as yours and it really will do a decent job for ya.

Re: amp question

I used the pioneer 7200M and one TS-W307D2. $200 total for both brand new. Built the box @ 2.5 cubic feet. Right now I'm using it at 4ohm mono. The plan was to add another sub later hence the D2, and not the D4. Pretty much if you go with a setup like this use a D4 for a single sub application, or get the D2's if you want a dual sub setup.

I suggest this only because it cost me about the same as just the amp did in that link above. The pioneer products will last much longer than jensen and give you much more bang for your buck.
