two ohms stable?
hey guys, i have a memphis 16-mc3004 ab class amp. i'm using it to run my 6x9's, and also a alpine type r dvc 4 ohm sub.
my question is, i can't seem to find whether or not the amp is two ohms stable, it's not the newest model, i believe i got it in 2004, but it's hard to find info on it.
in any case why this came up is because currently i'm running my voice coils seperately on each rear channel at four ohms, and while i'm busy installing everything i was thinking of running it two ohms bridged to pump up the power. i would think being a more high end amp that it's two ohms stable, but i wanted to check before i damage anything. thanks

4 x 75W @ 4 ohms
4 x 115W @ 2 ohms
2 x 230W @ 4 ohms bridge
its only 4 ohm stable when brigded so I wouldn't bring it down to a 2 ohm load this is just my opinion according to specs of amp

yea i seem to remeber kicking myself for not getting dvc 2 ohms but i got a deal on the type R so i took it. still it sounds good.
aight so is there any issue then, with running it the way i have? with the voice coils seperate on the left and right rear channels?

would strongly recommend not running both your doors and a sub on the same amp, just get a dual amp kit or distributing block and run 2 seperate amps.

ya your gonna get a much cleaner and stronger sound separating the doors and the sub, they dont play the same tones, they dont use the same about of power, and they load the amp completly differently.

i never really thought of it but yea that makes sense. i've noticed that the 6x9's don't really sound very clean.
honestly though after haveing the sub in for the last week, i would rather just sell the sub and amp for some car money, i'd rather have subframe connectors or seats then thump, it distracts me while i drive anyways.
