I was cleaning out my shed and found a box with a car stereo magazine I bought new in August 1989. It had a feature on a system in a Trans Am that was only a few years old when it was featured.
Check out the cartridge loading Alpine head unit....
The amps are Precision Power and the 12" subwoofers are Redline Performance....all serious stuff at the time.
I was seriously drooling over this back when I was 16-17 years old
Enjoy!

Thats a mean looking system there, good thing it was a hard top. I love what they did with the seat.

WOW... I love the hidden panel behind the dash pocket. That makes me wish I had a TA not that hidden panel is so cool looking! Oh and Holy Porno Red interior.
Here's a 1987 Iroc circa 1996. It was focused more on sound quality with all the speakers (including subwoofers in the footwell) in the front. Pretty clean install with most everything being hidden.
Notice the waveguides in built into the dash and firing up to the top of the dash into the windshield....these were normally just mounted under the dash firing at your knees in traditional installs using these speakers.

Whats that behind the front license plate?

It's a battery hookup so he can plug into a regular outlet to keep the batteries charged while the car is sitting there. I'm assuming he has a charger or something like that hidden somewhere in the car.Originally Posted by gearhead0384
