Re: Which speakers for my kicks?

I went with components in mine. However, my components are far higher end then the kickers that you are looking at. I went with the MB Quartz competition speakers with titanium tweeters and polypropylene woofers. I bought them a long time ago for about $350, but now they have gone up in price. I did go with the 6.5 inch , rather than the 5.25". I had to mount them a little bit differently into my kick panels int order to make the woofers fit.http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=4195
The kick panels I use are made by q logic: http://www.qlogicenclosures.com/c-1156-ql-k1002.aspx
The system sounds incredibly clear with a complete sound picture and great sound imaging. I am running my speakers with a hand built 700W Rockford Fosgate amp.

if i was you i would research alil bit before you start jumping into things. if you want a decent set of components then look at the rainbow slcs they are amazing and not to expensive. then look at the pioneer rev series and the phoenix gold rsds if your going for ok and more cost effective.

Also there are other sites that are cheaper and have good customer service
www.sonicelectronix.com and www.onlinecarstereo.com check those sites out.

lastly go to www.caraudio.com and look at the message board there and do a lil research they will help you out and you can learn alot there.

thanks for the input guys, the reason im not going too high end is b/c im buying the 4 channel profile amp which is 60x4 so i was going w/ the 65 RMS peak on those kickers along w my 6x9's.

the sensitivity isn't terribly good with those speakers. I'd probably save a bit more. I understand you can't get a $400 setup, but maybe just go with the 4x6s until you get more cash. Also, look locally and on ebay.

If you want REAL quality you will go with CDT euro 08 series but those are like 1000-1500 a set but worth every dime of it.
