problem with kicker componenets
problem with kicker components cutting out
i have a pair of kicker 6 1/2" components that are powered by my rockford fosgate 200-2 amplifier that puts out 50w rms x 2 at 4 ohms, the speakers are 75w rms at 4 ohms
my speakers always cut out at a volume level higher than about 17 and i dont know why, it is usually when there is a hard bass hit
I even rigged up a second battery so they could pull more power but they are still screwing up, i even added bass blockers to the mid speakers after the crossovers but they just ruined the sound quality so i took them off
does anyone know what the problem might be?

Re: problem with kicker componenets
could it possibly be the head unit the reason i ask is because my friend has tow door speakers and two 6x9's running off his head unit and if its up really loud the cd player shuts off and comes back on it could possibly be that the head unit cant push the non amped speakers and shutting off, or watch the amp when the speakers shut off does the light on the amp go off because then it could be a bad ground on the amp or remote wire not hooked up right let me know what you find?

switch your amp crossover to high and turn the gain down also check all of your conections to make sure you don't have a broken line. You may want to get a bigger amp and never look back, there are a ton of class A/B amps out there to meet your needs and be nice on the power. I am running a set of 5.25 2-way's with reference tweeter in my dash and sending about 350 watts per channel at them and I never have a cut out.
