Ported Box

I have 2 Kicker 12's Comps in a sealed box, just want to know if a ported box would sound better?

Re: Ported Box

Check the manufacture of the speakers... some speakers prefer sealed / ported...

I personally prefer the sound of a ported box as to a sealed one, but as stated, personal preference... They are harder to make sound good than a sealed...

Re: Ported Box

i would say it depends on what you are going for, spl or sql, i have 2 12" ma audio competion series subs in a slot port, 4 sqft of airspace, tuned to 34 hz, i hit 142 db at a local comption, so like i said, its all about what you want your system to do

Also depends on what type of music you listem to. Rap and dance like ports. Most rock, jazz, motown, etc prefer sealed. Also remember that 10's will generally hit harder than 12's. 12's will hit lower.
