should i keep my orig. sound system?
I am currently trying to decide if i should keep the car system stock or replace it. I know that cars that have orig. stock parts are worth more. And i want a nice sound system at the same time. Should i replace the orig. audio system for a nice sound system or is a stock system add value to the car?
And if i did change it out i want a system that blends in to the original looks of the car. its a 1987 Pontiac Firebird and a black dash board.

Thats up to you bro. I would replace it all, but keep the stock stuff if you are worried about it. You could always put it back in.

You could also keep the original deck and hook the speaker leads to a line level converter and run an amp off from that. Then you'll have the stock look and an amplified system. I'm debating doing this to my 89 RS which has a stock looking deck in it. It's not the most desirable way to do it as converters can introduce noise into the system (especially cheap ones), but it allows you to maintain a stock looking appearance.

I agree. If you want something better then upgrade and keep the everything to return it back when needed. I think a original looking car to me is worth more.

keep it if you are looking to resell it in the future. Or if you do sell it soon and end up putting a deck in ask the buyer if they want the orig parts or put it in your add "stock parts included"
