Dash: 6/5" speakers

Okay so i took my dash pad off tonight so i can start the work and cover it in vinyl. In the process i test the fit of the Rockford 6.5" Power Speakers. The basket was only slighty too large. I'm going to remove the 4x6 brackets and fab up a bracket for the 6.5". There's plenty of room to do it, just need a bracket that will allow it. I think i'll just use 2 separate pieces and run them on each side with mounting holes for the 6.5 to use 2 mounting locations.. If possible i'll run a smalled piece parallel to each other from the other pieces to use all four mounting spots on the speaker. Will let you know how it goes as I progress.. my welder is currently down so i'll have to go to a friends..

oh.. another thought.. i may just go to the JY tomorrow and grab an extra set of brackets and file them down and see how that works.. just another idea

As long as you're in there you might think about putting some foam baffles in there and stuffing them with some polyfill.
