Speakers
I'm not a stereo guy, I know one thing about speakers, music comes out of them,...........sometimes. One of my back speakers was not working, I took it out and cleaned all the connections on the speaker and the wires coming off the radio. I then used a jumper wire from the radio to a different speaker, and that one worked. I then hooked the old speaker back up and used the jumper wire from where the gold wires go into the speaker paper to a different speaker and it worked.
My question is the non-working speaker looked great, no torn paper contacts looked good and worked, but no sound. Where do they fail?
Thanks
Mike

Re: Speakers
Sometimes a broken connection will occur where the
flex wire connects to the voice coil wire-this connection
is on the front side of the cone and is usually covered
with glue or varnish, sometimes this problem is able
to be repaired.Burnt-out voice coils can occur if amp
shorts out or speaker power rating way exceded.
