Installing a new head unit?
I have my factory original radio installed right now in my camaro. I want to install a new cheap sony xplod head unit. Doing it because I want to use my ipod and the cassette adapter sounds like **** for some reason. Just want something cheap.
Anyways is this something simple to do? Its a Sony - Xplod 52W x 4 In-Dash CD Deck. It comes with a mounting kit.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Installing a new head unit?
Do you have the bose factory radio and speakers or no? If not, it's pretty easy. Just go to crutchfield.com or best buy and get a wiring harness. It plugs in to the factory wiring and basically converts the plug to the correct one for your new radio.
If you have a bose system (this could be wrong so hopefully someone will verify it) I believe it was designed for a different impedance than new radios and speakers. Most new head units and speakers run at 4 ohms, I can't remember what the bose was - maybe 2 ohms? Long story short different impedances don't play well together. The guy I bought my car from told me you would have to change all the speakers out.
