FRUSTRATING amp problem...

i just wired up my kenwood KAC-6404 amp and its not getting power. my ground is good(tried 3 different ones) REM is good, all fuses are fine, no wires are getting pinched or anything. i tried bridging the remote and power...got a little arc and the power l.e.d. flashed..and that was it. tried that like 6 times and same result. ANY ideas on whats up????

Sounds like a bad amp to me if you are sure the 12v, Rem and Gnd are good.

Re: FRUSTRATING amp problem...

Iuno I had a simular problem My amp worked fine then had a short (long story) then only the fan would turn on in my amp but all the fuses were good ground rem. ec. tested the batter ec. all was good BUT then I tested my fuse WICH APPEARED PERFECT AND NORMAL some how it stoped letting the full current pass thru it so all I did was well by pass the fuse wire it all back up and OF COURSE IT ALL WORKED XD so all I had to do was go out and buy a new fuse. Try that out if that dosent work well sorry to tell you but your amp is prolly toast. Quick question though on your kenwood Im pretty sure the L.E.D. has 2 colours Red flask on start up means some kina problem and blue usally means good but usally if its blue it stays solid and well stays on but a red flash means theres a problem? So just curious what colour of flash appeared?

Re: FRUSTRATING amp problem...

it's possible its defective, its still under warrenty its only 2 days old XD, i used a test light on all fuses, and the manual doesnt say anything about colored led's. if it goes into protective mode it says the led turns off. and it flashed red but im pretty sure red means power on this amp i could be wrong tho

Re: FRUSTRATING amp problem...

well, sorry to inform you teentrans...but the amp only has ONE led...and its red. and that means power. and if it does go into protective mode...there will be no led...and i took it to the shop i bought it at they had no idea what was up and think its defective and gave me the higher end model for free and installed my new deck for free too even though i didnt buy it from there...so problem solved, thanks for the help though
