I'll try to make this quick!!!

I have an 89 IROC with the Bose stereo system that has the kick panel speakers?/Amp?, and the rear hatch shelf with speakers and amp. When I purchased the car it had an aftermarket sony head unit installed. I pulled the dash pad and noticed that I do not have dash speakers!

These are my questions:

1. Do the kick panel units contain speakers and amps or just an amp?
2. Can I power the 4x6 speakers in the dash by wiring them into the kick panel units?
3. Can I wire 6x9's into the rear shelf wires to power those?
4. How do I test the kick panel and rear shelf units to tell if they are still operational.
5. Has anyone done this to their car and can they give me more info on how to do this.

I know that everyone prefers to rip out the old Bose stuff and replace it with new components but I'd like to make this work.

Thanks for any and all help.

stick with the kick panel speakers... the 4x6 dash speakers sound horrible and its impossible to find a set that actually fit "properly"
