replacing missing parts from a broken into radio area
Hello, been awhile since i've posted on here but i've decided to get my 88 camaro out of the garage and start to piece it together and get it on the road.
The radio had been forcibly removed when I bought the car and it's been awhile since I've seen this area in a "stock" condition.
Basically what I need to know is what I need to buy to get a radio mounted back in the car, The factory wiring harness has been cut but this isnt a big deal, Also I have already ordered the factory plastic radio bezel, If I remember right there use to be a metal tray the radio would sit on. am I wrong on this?
Here is an image of what im working with:

Not sure about a metal tray, but the plastic mounts on that radio section is broken.
My assumption is that it didn't have a metal tray like the climate cluster. But instead just molded plastic tabs for the radio brackets to screw to.
Having said that your going to need a new console or fab something up to mount the radio. Those consoles are all once piece on the Camaro and snake down the center.
Check the classified section and see what's available there. And it wouldn't hurt to post this in the interior section.
