My manual says nothing about positive or negative..
Either you can wire it both ways (ill prob get a virtual backhand for saying that..), or you have to take a test light to them..
But as the book says:
Typical base model stereo system
RT front speaker- Light Green
RT front speaker- Dark Green
LT front speaker- Tan
LT front speaker- Gray
LT rear speaker- Brown
LT rear speaker- Yellow
RT rear speaker- Dark Blue
RT rear speaker- Light Blue
When i did mine with new HU and Speakers i just plugged them up without looking at +/- terminals and it works fine. At least for me..

When you wire speakers the CORRECT way, the cone should fire OUTwards before rebounding back in.
the WRONG way which will/could cause damage to your speakers will make the cone fire INward, causing it to bottom out easier, be much quieter, and could not produce certain notes.
To check it, use a 9v battery, tap the terminals, if the speaker shoots out, that is the correct way, if it goes in, that is the incorrect way.
speakers PROJECT sound, they don't INJECT sound.

OMG.... LOL
ok just so you know speakers have a AC current that runs though them. there for 1 of your wires is switching from both + to - the other wire is a neutral wire much like you would find in your household wiring.....
wiring a speaker backwards will not hurt it UNLESS you have them in a box together ... (think subwoofers) if 1 of the speakers is wired - and the other is wired + the subs will destroy each other.
the only major problem with wiring a speaker backwords is your sound system will sound slightly off. if on one side you have the speaker wired + - and on the other side - + because the speakers are out of polarity .... (it might not even be noticable)
best thing to do is to make sure u wire all the speakers the same way
