How does installing subs actually work?

I'm takling about in the back, in the trunk. Do you have to rip out take out all the seats and remove the carpet and run the cables on the floor? And then can you do it without ruining the carpet?

The first time I installed a system of my thirdgen I didnt, and it looked a slight bit tacky.I didnt make a hole in my firewall so you could see the power wire running on the door jam.

Yea when i first got into audio i didnt know much but all i did was run it though the door jam too dosent look too bad.

but after a few years and learning a thing or 2 if you want to do it "Right" you need to put a hole in your firewall (if you are going with walmart subs go with your 8 gauge wire better then walmart like rockford go 4 guage then if you have the money to blow u can go with comp style like vibe or something go with 0 gauge)

then all you have to do is take off doorsails and the wheel cover next to the seats and left up the carpet run your set # guage wire and your 16 guage or so for remote amp turn on and your rca's. then you should be fine really simple I do it on the side for extra $ lol hope thats what your ? was. ohh ps carpet lifts up wont get ruined
