need some serious help/ NooB

Hey guys this is my first post on here. I just decided to upgrade the sound system on my 88 iroc convertable and im having some issues. 1st of all the rear speakers wont fit anything biger then 4x6 because new speakers are to deep. so is 4x6 any good?2ndly I want to get 1 or 2 subs but not have them displayed realy. so i was going to put them in the trunk. only problem is the trunk on a convertableis tinyy. i forget my exact measurements but at the smallest point it is 11x37 with lots of hight however.so im wondering what you guys have done. sice i know absolutley nothing about car adio i need some serious help.

Hi Matt,
Covering a complete install from component selection to power up in a forum setting is a tall task. If you have as little experience as you claim, and no friends with systems you can ask, you may want to start at a reputable place of business. There are some sponsors on here that can probably help you at least pick out what fits your needs and budget, otherwise I would strongly recommend Crutchfield. They know what fits, lotsa brands and prices, and all the install stuff comes to your door along with photographic instructions. If you get into it and get hung up you can either contact them, or send a shout out to us. Two pieces of advice, unplug the battery before you start cutting wires, and don't buy a box you can't fit through the trunk opening (been there done that)!
