amp overheating :/

amp overheating :/

okay
so a couple of times when ive really pounded my system..the bass amp for my sub cuts off and the little light on it goes red *usually green..guessing its overheating?? southern cali weather probly doesent exactly help it lately either..so
the question is.
is there any way i can still bump my system without overheating the amp?

How do you have your gains set? If they are set too high, you may be causing the amp to go into protect mode. If it is too hot to physically touch, you may have a possible wiring issue or just pushing it too hard. What ohm rating is your sub and how is it wired to the amp? (bridged?)

You need to check your ohm load. Most of the time when amps are getting hot like that it always come back to be a wiring problem. Do you have a good metal ground and all connections are good. Hope you get it fixed properly.
