Boston Acoustics 746's
Right now the speakers in my dash are a ragged out set of Kicker DS46's. Driven straight off the head unit, they pop and distort before I even reach max volume. They cannot take ANY sort of heavy bass without sounding like they are about to explode out of the dash and go through my windshield. When doing some down-in-the-dash work and I had my dashpad off, I pulled one out and the quality seemed very flimsy.
Because of this, I've had to go into my head unit settings and set the fade more towards the rear speakers (A set of Audiobahn's that seem to be holding up fine for now) and raise the low frequency crossover.
The Boston Acoustics 746's were recommended to me by a highly established local A/V store before they went out of business, and I am just wondering from all here that have experience with these speakers what I can expect. I am going to rewire them right down to the head unit using monster XLN cable.

Re: Boston Acoustics 746's
We have them in the dash of my wifes Bravada but they are powered off an amp. IMO Boston Acoustics are some of the best sounding speakers you can get...do yourself a favor though and run an amp to all your speakers it will be a night and day difference.
