Radio Replacement

What is the DIN size for a radio in an 82 camaro? My radio is pretty much shot, the tape player wont play regular tapes, and when I use my cassette mp3 adapter it spit the tape out when I hit a bump. Would getting it rebuilt be better? Or would replacing it be better?

Re: Radio Replacement

From what I understand, it is a 1.5 DIN size. You should probably just go with what you need/your budget. If you want to be able to play CDs, mp3 players, etc. go for a new head unit. If you don't, maybe look into getting an OEM from a donor car or something.

yeah it's a 1.5 DIN and it would be cheaper in the long run to just get a new head unit

yeah, they are spendy, but are well made and look killer. loved mine in my GTP, even went with the option to have the "GTP" logo lit up red.

you've got a supercharged motor under the hood and $100 for a some interior trim's too much?

Don't know if they still do it but Crutchfield used to give you an install kit including wiring and adapter at no coat when you bought a stereo.
