4th gen door speakers are 6.5"

They would fit in the sail panel on a 3rd gen but probably not the dash.

I know but if i wanted to keep them on the door....maybe kick panel- how is the wireing done-

sounds stupid but i am not an audio hook up guy...love great systems i just never really got into installing them.

So if i did the 4th gen swap couldnt i just connect it to the front dash speakers? wiring wise

Re: $th Gen Door Speaker Swap

The 3rd gen connector should work with the 4th gen speakers.

But the speakers are physically too big.

Look at the polk audio 4" plate speakers.

Better fit and sound

Re: $th Gen Door Speaker Swap

He is trying to swap them into the doors not the dash...

He is wanting to swap them into the doors like the 4th gens since 3rd gens didnt come with them

Hes asking how is wiring will be done

Here my best advice to you If you wanting to keep sail panel/dash speakers

Go buy a 6.5" Comp set with a 1" Tweeter

cut a hole in your door and put speaker in it(Might have to use a small spacer plate or a pod depending on depth of speaker) Put your tweeter on your Pillar Pod on each side

Replace your 6x9s

Get a 4 Channel amp run your 6.5/tweeters/6x9s on a highs/mids amp and have your 4x6 on radio

You wil have good clean clear sound and never have a problem with it

Re: $th Gen Door Speaker Swap

if throwing in the 4th gen door panels, i'd reroute the dash speaker wires to the doors and do without the dash speakers. otherwise do a component setup, tweeter in stock dash spot and mid in door, and have the speaker out (from amp or radio) routed to crossover.
