Remote start tach wire behind inst. cluster?

Hey all! Couldnt find what I was looking for using the search feature. I'm installing a remote start alarm in my '86 IROC and was wondering if anyone knew the color/location of the tach wire behind the instrument cluster. Thanks!!

Didnt want to go under the hood. Trying to keep it less cluttered and out of the heat. Thx!

Really? No one knows? Am I posting in the wrong place? Maybe the electronics board?

The tach wire should be white if the wiring is original.

Thank you!! I Really appreciate that! Think I found it in the connector on the right. My Fluke 77 multimeter reads it as + 12 volts, though. Might need to break out my computer-safe test probe to test for pulse....

Good point! Going to be doing that anyway, as I need to replace my water temp gauge today! Thanks!

first off I have heard that using a test light on a tach wire can cause problems. Second of all yes it is the white wire. Also I don't know what kind of remote start system you have but I would skip the tach wire and go with the voltage sense and you don't even need the tach wire.

I went with the tach wire. On my car it was in the left molex in the center. (White wire.) Its a horet (Viper 600 series) 732T. Always had problems installing these in older cars using voltage sense. It is up and running perfectly, Thanks guys!!!
