Newb Question on cossovers and amps

I did a search, but couldn't find what I was looking for. Anyway, I'm installing an Alpine amp and Alpine woofers and tweeters that come with their own crossovers. The battery is trunk mounted, and the amp will be there as well. Should the crossovers be mounted closer to the amp, in the rear, or the subs and tweeters they are attached to? I can mount it either way, but didn't know if one way was preferred over another. Thanks guys!

Re: Newb Question on cossovers and amps

i try to keep the speaker crossovers closer to the speakers to cut down on running wire, but either way would work. On my last install, I used the factory 4x6 spots to mount the crossovers (since my speakers went moved to the kickpanels)
