Just a thought...has anyone ever thought of mountin a double Din unit right there on the dash? It seems to be enough room and as long as my arms are i feel its almost the perfect spot for a touch screen unit but whats all behind that little circled area? Just wanted to see what u guys thought about it

 

if you want to use that area, you'll have to build it out. the HVAC ducting is right behind there and pretty much takes up all the room. If you're a bit creative, you could probably build some sort of enclosure to mount the radio to.

or

do a car pc and just set up the monitor there, computer guts tucked away elsewhere

 

IIRC that flat area isn't tall enough for a double din, even if there was room behind it anyway.

 

U dont think so even if i cut down into the part that kinda slants out a little? Im thinkin of attempting to build it out like Dan mentioned..maybe fabricate some sort of bracket/enclosure with mdf or fiberglass and just sit the inside of it? How hard do u guys think this would be?

 

you will lose your Hvac ducting for sure if you put it there. I personally wouldnt do it.

 

I think it would look cool........no guts no glory..........
