Sony Xplod CD Stereo Wiring Help

K guys need your expertise again. I'm trying to wire up a sony xplod cd deck to my 86 camaro. I'm having trouble getting a constant power feed to it. So far I've gotten all of the speakers hooked up, the rem wire, antenna plugged in and the ground. Now... my dilemma is that I can't get it wired where the deck holds progammed memory. I've hooked up the accessory to the accessory and the hot to the hot. I turn the key and nothing. I take the cd decks hot and accessory and put it on the hot wire from the car and get power. Testing, I program EQ and 1 channel. Shut the car off for a bit. Turn the key and it's back to factory setting. So now I'm totally stumped. I'm using one of the scoshe wiring harnesses, no wires have been clipped. Everything is matched up to the letters on the original wire clips. Has anybody else had this problem?

Re: Sony Xplod CD Stereo Wiring Help

should be a yellow wire. that has to be hooked up to constant power. u can run the wire to your fuse box and put it on the cig lighter fuse or any fuse that is always on. or u can run a power straight off the battery but be sure to put a inline fuse in if u do it this way.

Ya aside from all the speaker wires and the ground and blue rem, I've got the paired orange and brown into a clip which then extends into just 1 yellow wire, which per the schematic is hot at all times. The brown wire just ends in the clip, it has nothing extending from it. Then i've got the yellow wire which is telling me is the accessory wire. I noticed that I also have an orange light dimmer wire coming off the new harness extension which has nothing to mate with on the stereo harness.

Re: Sony Xplod CD Stereo Wiring Help

Ok, update. I was out there tinkering with it this morning and I've got some new details that might help. According to the 86 camaro wiring schematic, I should have a pink wire which should mate with the rem wire of the stereo harness. I do not have the pink wire, only the fixed antenna cable. Now, I've experimented a little. Taking the hot wire and accessory wire of the stereo and connecting to the accessory wire of the car, I get power when ignition is turned. When I take the hot wire off and connect to the hot of the car, I get nothing at all. I even tried the hot and accessory of the stereo to the constant of the car and still nothing. Conclusion, I've got no power coming from the orange constant feed of the car. Could I have blown a fuse somewhere or is that a direct connection to the battery? Which if that's the case, that battery is pretty much shot and would explain for everything.

Re: Sony Xplod CD Stereo Wiring Help

I'm such a dumb @$$, it was a fuse. #1 I noticed my horn stopped working and my dome light stopped coming on. The battery I had in it was corroded around the terminals so I bought a new one today and hooked it up. Once I discovered the horn stopped working I was like it's gotta be a fuse. Sure as heck, found one that was blown. Replaced... And all problems solved. Thanks for the help guys.
