dash mount problems.

hello,I am having some problems mounting the bracket where you put your stereo in. the problem is is that it will not go in all the way. I do not know wheather its the fact that i put a later camaro console in (96 i believe) or the fact that i still have the original stereo wires in it. if u have any ideas please let me know and if u did a swap let me know how u got urs in. thanks..

Re: dash mount problems.

Will the radio itself not go all the way in or the mount itself?

I know that if you install an aftermarket radio with a flush mount, the vents in teh console will get in the way.

Re: dash mount problems.

Post a pic if you can.

Is it the mounting bracket?...or the radio will not slide all the way in?

Also, is it the factory or aftermarket radio?

IF, it's an aftermarket deck, you may have to remove, cut and tape or melt/mold the vent ducts that are behind the radio. Some decks have had issues due to them being longer and hitting the ducts.

i think that may be the problem because it is a after market radio. but am i suppose to take out the stock wiring for the regular radio that it comes with?
it wont slide all the way in.

Scosche makes an adapter the plugs into the factory harness and wires into the aftermarket HU. Best Buy or ebay sells them.

You may have to get under with a flashlight to see where it is hitting/sticking and decide how to fix. You could just pull the rear vent ducts and go from there.

Re: dash mount problems.

ive had to cut out the ducts in just about every thirdgen ive put a deck in, theres almost no option unless you space out the din cage, but most people find it much easier to cut the vents
