So just got a rockford fosgate punch p500-2 channel amp and two 10" mtx's got everything wired then turned the stereo on sounds great till i turn it up then the subs cut in and out how do i fix this?

 

Is the amp going into protection? Do your headlights also cut off when the subs stop?

 

everything works fine when they do cut out but if i have the volume or the subs turned down then its fine but once i turn them up it cuts out

 

make sure its grounded good. it sounds like the amp is going into protection, to find out watch the amp as the music plays, it should have a light on the side that tells you if its going into protection mode... after you make sure its grounded well, if it still does it then up the size of your wiring. may need to go to 4/0 awg..

EDIT: after thinking about it... how do you have them wired? heres some ways RF recommends you wire them.. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...9&locale=en_US click on the WiringWizard after you open the page, it will show you a bunch of wiring diagrams.. they're all bridged and work at the correct impedance for that amp... i have a feeling thats going to be your problem right there...
