How do I get my deck to fit?

I had my deck working but my mount wasn't attached yet but with the mount on it sits too far out. I've read things about people cutting the vent or moving it to make their deck fit but I'm not sure about it.

No need to cut. Un fasten the HVAC controls and the 10 MM bolt above the HVAC and the one 10mm bolt on the floor and remove the radio pod. Then you should see 4 screws that when taken out will remove the HVAC ducts in the pod. I just did this.

Wouldn't that make the heater/ac useless?

I took my pod out awhile ago, but I didn't have to remove the ducts. I'm trying to remember how it mounts, but I do know I still have my heat ducts in place.

depending on the deck, some need to have the rear metal bracket support bracket removed, others require some modding to the ducts.

I removed the bracket and I had to use a heat gun to push the vents back further. The deck is flush now and the vents still work fine.
