Plug and play radio with alpine?
Plug and play radio with alpine?
I have a slim alpine eq. I am looking to add a new radio and keep this component. all of my factory wiring is uncut. Can anyone suggest a setup. my budget is around 300. I have subs and speakers already. Thanks birders.

Re: Plug and play radio with alpine?
it all depends on how the eq is hooked up to the current deck. most use rca in/out, but there are some brands that use a proprietary link to tie different components together. what mode eq do you have? how is it wired to the deck?

it is indeed rca. my question is this..
is there a radio i can buy that will just hook up without having to splice any wires? my harness is uncut as of now.

all aftermarket decks come with a harness that plugs into the radio and has bare ends. you can purchase an adapter that attaches to those bare wires and plugs into the factory harness without any other modification. you can get these adapters anywhere radios are sold (and most car part or electronics stores as well).

most quality aftermarket decks have at least one set of preouts, but you'll want those to be full range and not just lowpass (sub-only). should be noted in the deck specifications thought
