To make a long story short...

I had the factory cd player out of my 91 camaro for years. I just sold the car and the guy wanted the cd player back in it. I hooked up the three connectors to the back of it and installed it. The cd player will power up only to display the clock. I can set the time, and the cd player will accept a cd, but wont play it. The am/fm channels wont do anything when pressed and wont come up. There is no static or anything coming from it. I hit tune and nothing. I hit the power button and the cd player doesnt do anything either.

I did remove the factory power antenna assembly and motor since it didnt work years ago. Could that be the issue? The cd player doesnt show that it is locked.

Any help would be great.

 

Nobody has any idea? A aftermarket cd player works just fine.

 

i have a 92 z28 and my Factry CD player also went Bad from sitting.
there is a guy on ebay who Fixes them. he can also set them up to take
I PODs. $100. i never even took it out of the car. Just set for 9 years.

 

Thanks. The cd p;ayer sat in a box for 7 years. Maybe it went bad. Ill pass the word to the new owner.
