Car Audio Help!!!!
Car Audio Help!!!!
My factory radio in my 85 Berlinetta Camaro just went out on me!!
I want to put in a new head unit and take out the old one.
I have no idea where to start.
What head unit should i buy?
Also it may be the speakers that aren't working so i need to know how to get to those too.
Anyone that can help it will be much appreciated!!
Thanks

Re: Car Audio Help!!!!
Buy a deck you like, get a metra harness 701858 (I believe) and a 40 gm10 antenna adapter, solder the deck harness to the metra harness, just color match and you won't go wrong. do not use either Orange wire on the metra harness just yank them out and get a gm dash kit for a camaro, put it together and throw it in. The front speakers can be removed by removing the 4 7mm screws in the defroter vents and the 7mm screws alonghe bottom of the dash pad. Remove the factory speaker and cut the wires, left front tan is + grey is -, right front light green is + dark green is -. For he rear speakers take he screw out of the coat hook, slide the panel upwards and the speaker is right there, left rear dark blue is + light blue is -, right rear brown is + yellow is -. If you get a set of speakers with wires just cut and splice the speaker wires to the car wires.
The tears may be backwards goin from memory. Front speakers are 4x6 and tears are 6x9. Infinity reference is a good brand they fit well, pioneer 4x6's will fit with no modification.
