Tweeters in A-pillars
I've heard of a few mentions of mounting tweeters in the A-pillars facing each other across the dash as the next best way to get a decent sound stage in these cars without resulting to speakers in the kick pannels...
Does this work?
Anyone try it?
Anyone have a recommendation for a small, easily mounted tweeter that is warm sounding (I don't like harsh, I'm getting older than some of you but I haven't lost enough of my hearing to like some of the more crisp sounding stuff out there)?

If you want a good front sound stage (I will assume your interior speakers are amped and good quality) I would recommend a setup where you have 3.5" or 4" speakers in your dash and properly mounted silk dome tweeters since you are aiming for a more natural, warm sound. These will need to tie into a crossover, which will then go to your amp, to properly separate frequencies.
Silk and textile tweeters produce a softer sound than Mylar or aluminum, but are more prone to distortion since they are not as stiff. I will recommend, however, that if you haven't put good sound deadening in your car, you will most likely be unhappy with the sound the silk tweeters will produce as they don't project sound like a metal dome tweet does.

). Good choice for pillar install.I'm also a big fan of Focal (amazing mid sound) but would take -3 db off the tweet to reduce the "detailed" sound. The crossover has a setting to do just this...seems it's a popular option.

Re: Tweeters in A-pillars
I have alpine tweeters in the A pillars with the mids in the dash, where the original
speakers were. They are amped through a crossover, and i get decent sound from them.I dont lose any sound detail.
