Re: amp and sub info

There are LOTS of sub/amp combo's out there.

First need to know;

What music do you listen to? How "loud" do you want the sub to be?

What is your budget?

What brand are your other speakers?

To eliminate the rear speaker rattling, buy some thin peel and stick foam and apply between your speaker and the housing. Rattling probably is caused by metal to metal contact. Best to have a barrier between the two.

Also, Dynamat/Fatmat or similar product trimmed will work as well.

i mostly listen to house and hiphop music...i run pioneer on the back and dxi in the front...i spoke to someone at best buy who installed my headunit and said an amp and one 12inch sub would run around 400...i guess i would spend around there to 700 with parts and labor..basically i would like a good bass

Re: amp and sub info

If you want to keep the budget nice and tight while still pumping out some good sound, this is what i have in my car currently...

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...12-JXWXv2.html

Set gain according to the manual using a 50hz test tone at 3/4 volume and you're good to go. Its great because you dont have to worry about the sub and amp being a mismatch in power. I've listened to everything from Skrillex to Young Jeezy to Bass I love you on this and it just pumps it out without ever skipping a beat.

Its not earth shaking and you need to take the amp off the back of the box to get it to slide down into the rear well, but it fits nice and snug and the echo off the rear of the car helps amplify the bass quite a bit. I tried putting the box on top of the hump in the hatch and the bass much flatter, not as boomy.

Re: amp and sub info

This is the amp and sub combo I have for my car

Whatever you decide to get definitely check sonics website, it will most likely be cheaper than getting it at best buy.
